Drawing from historical records, personal narratives, and archival research, Mariah Rocker will bring to life the experiences of these pioneering women and examine their lasting impact on the social, cultural, and economic development of the region.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the critical roles Black women played in Oregon’s history and why preserving and sharing these stories remains essential today.
